SHAH ALAM, July 15 — Klang Selatan police have intensified efforts to combat school bullying, with an advocacy programme in SMK Sri Andalas in Klang yesterday.
In a Facebook post last night, the force said the visit was led by its Crime Prevention and Community Safety Division chief Sharifah Mohd Nawani to ensure a safe learning environment for students.
It said the visit focused on strengthening cooperation between the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) and the school administration to identify effective approaches to curb bullying, while empowering all parties to safeguard the welfare of the school community.
During the visit, police personnel provided students with briefings on the definitions and forms of bullying, and highlighted the negative impacts of bullying on victims, the legal implications faced by perpetrators, and the importance of reporting such incidents to school authorities or PDRM.
“The issue of bullying, which is of increasing public interest, affects not only the emotional and mental well-being of students but also the academic performance and character development of the younger generation,” it said.
Klang Selatan police emphasised that the advocacy programme reflects PDRM’s commitment to community policing by engaging with schools, raising awareness on the dangers of bullying, and strengthening public trust in the police force.
