SHAH ALAM, Aug 24 — Ten people were injured in a roller coaster accident at a theme park in Subang Jaya on Saturday night, said Subang Jaya police chief Wan Azlan Wan Mamat.
He added that the victims suffered minor injuries, with no deaths reported.
He said police received a report on the incident at 11.45am yesterday, and that the accident occurred at about 9pm on Saturday.
“Based on the initial investigation, 22 (parkgoers) comprising local and foreign tourists aged between 11 and 44 were on the ride when the accident occurred.
“In the accident, 10 people were injured. The victims were taken to medical centres around Subang Jaya for treatment,” he said in a statement.
Wan Azlan said police are investigating the accident.
“(We) advise the public not to make speculations that could interfere with the investigation,” he said.
