SHAH ALAM, July 10 — Pakatan Harapan is confident that voter support will continue to gain momentum until the polling day for the Johor state election tomorrow, even though the race against Barisan Nasional (BN) remains heated.
Sinar Harian reported that Parti Keadilan Rakyat election director Dato' Seri Amirudin Shari said that Harapan and BN have been working hard to gain public support since the first week of the campaign.
"The contest remains intense. From the very first week, the competition between Harapan and BN has seen them neck-and-neck.
"However, we are very confident in the public's response, especially over the last few days," he said after the coalition’s South Johor 'Grand Finale' event for the Puteri Wangsa state constituency at the Taman Pelangi Indah public field yesterday.
Amirudin made these remarks while commenting on Harapan’s prospects ahead of polling day for the 16th Johor State Election tomorrow.
The Keadilan vice-president added that he believes the wave of support for Harapan will be reflected in the results.
“InsyaAllah (God willing), I believe that wave will continue until polling day and translate into votes. However, we hope that even more people will come out to show their support.
"If they are drawn to the coalition, particularly the manifesto that we have presented and the continuity between the state and federal governments, then Pakatan Harapan is the best choice for Johor this time around," he said.
Approximately 2,727,926 voters are eligible to cast their ballots in this Johor State Election across 1,140 polling centres.
The 16th Johor state polls sees 172 candidates vying for 56 state legislative assembly seats.
