SHAH ALAM, July 10 — A total of 5,430 affordable housing units have been developed within a 1.5 km radius of the Light Rail Transit 3 (LRT3) line to expand public access to quality homes connected to the public transport system.

The Selangor Housing and Property Board (LPHS) said the developments comprise completed projects, projects under construction and future developments along the LRT3 alignment.

“The affordable homes are priced between RM170,000 and RM270,000 for Rumah Selangorku (RSKU) units measuring between 800 and 1,000 sq ft.

“Meanwhile, affordable commercial residential units are priced between RM230,000 and RM270,000, with built-up areas ranging from 450 to 550 sq ft,” it told Media Selangor.

LPHS said the projects include developments that have been completed, are under construction and are in the pipeline. Projects currently under construction are expected to be fully completed between 2027 and 2028.

“For projects that are under construction and those planned for future development, interested applicants may submit their applications through the LPHS website,” it said.

LPHS added that some completed projects will also be offered under the Smart Sewa scheme managed by one of its subsidiaries.

Meanwhile, the board hopes the rapid development along the LRT3 corridor will catalyse the growth of sustainable urban areas and encourage more affordable housing projects in strategic locations near public transport networks.

“This initiative is expected to expand public access to quality, liveable homes that are connected to an efficient public transport system, in line with the state government's aspiration to strengthen transit-oriented development (TOD),” it said.
