SHAH ALAM, July 8 — The Kuala Langat Municipal Council (MPKL) has issued notices to several industrial premises during an integrated pollution monitoring operation in the Jalan Kasawari Industrial Area, Telok Panglima Garang.

It said the operation, conducted on Tuesday (June 30), was carried out in collaboration with the Environment Department (DOE), the Selangor Water Management Authority (LUAS), and the Kuala Langat Irrigation and Drainage Department (DID).

Enforcement actions included the issuance of notices under the Local Government Act 1976, as well as the MDKL Trade, Business, and Industrial By-Laws 2007.

The inspected sites were also instructed to comply with licensing requirements, improve the cleanliness and maintenance of their premises and drains, and manage their effluent discharge systems in accordance with the relevant regulations.

“The DOE and LUAS have also taken follow-up action within their respective jurisdictions,” MPKL said in a Facebook post.

It added that continuous monitoring would be carried out to ensure that all industrial premises comply with licensing requirements, environmental regulations, and applicable laws.

“We will continue to conduct monitoring and work closely with the DOE, LUAS, and the DID in addressing environmental pollution issues to ensure the well-being, comfort, and environmental quality of residents in the Kuala Langat district are safeguarded at all times,” MPKL said.
