SHAH ALAM, July 3 — A hardware factory along Jalan Hillview in Kampung Baru Sungai Buloh was extensively damaged after about 90 per cent of the premises was destroyed in a fire early this morning.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) assistant director of operations Ashrul Riezal Asbar said the department received an emergency call about the incident at 4.29 am.
He said 21 firefighters from the Sungai Buloh Fire and Rescue Station, assisted by personnel from the Bukit Jelutong Fire and Rescue Station, were deployed to the scene to carry out firefighting operations.
"The fire brigade arrived at the scene at 4.38 am and found that about 90 per cent of the factory structure had been destroyed.
"The fire was brought under control at 5.15 am, and extinguishing and inspection works are still being carried out to ensure there are no remaining sources of ignition," he said in a statement today.
Ashrul Riezal said no casualties were reported in the incident.
The cause of the fire and the estimated losses are still under investigation.
