SHAH ALAM, July 2 — The Flexi Parking and Smart Selangor mobile apps have recovered following a service disruption that affected users earlier this week.
In separate statements today, both platform operators confirmed their apps have been restored.
Smart Selangor said: “Our app services have resumed and are available as usual. You may now proceed with your parking payment. Should you require further assistance, please contact us through this channel.
“Thank you for your patience, support and understanding during this service disruption. We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused,” it said in its statement.
Flexi Parking said: “Thank you for your patience, support and cooperation throughout this period of service disruption. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
On Tuesday, Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari ordered local authorities not to issue parking summonses or compounds due to technical issues on both parking apps.
Yesterday, state executive councillor for local government and tourism Dato’ Ng Suee Lim said the disruption occurred during the migration to the new Flexi Parking system.
He added that it is unrelated to the Selangor Intelligent Parking (SIP) platform and was not confined to the state.
The disruption is linked to a cyberattack that affected parking payment services under 64 local authorities across Malaysia.
