PETALING JAYA, July 1 — The Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) is empowering the community with various initiatives that centre the people’s well-being.
Petaling Jaya Mayor Dato’ Mohamad Zahri Samingon said these programmes centre on public health, community development, lifelong learning, and community involvement.
“MBPJ consistently holds various programmes that support family well-being, including the Parenthood Programme, Community Development Programme, Family Day celebrations, senior citizens’ programmes, child and adolescent development, and various community activities that encourage healthy interactions between family members.
“MBPJ also provides various public facilities like recreational parks, playgrounds, community centres, libraries, and leisure spaces that are family friendly to encourage healthy lifestyles, strengthen familial ties, and develop a more inclusive community,” he said when speaking at the Selangor Father’s Day celebration, organised by the National Population and Family Development Board (LPPKN), at Dewan Sivik MBPJ here today.
The event saw the “As Great as a Father’s Love” forum, which featured TikTok influencers Wira Sudepja Rabu (Wiradihan) and Roslan Mohamad (Pakcik Lan) as panellists.
The celebration also comprised interactive corners like the Lego Creative Corner, RC Excavator Challenge, MNP Toy Shop Hot Wheels, the Exploration and Recreation Exhibit, men’s health screening, LPPKN booth, and a Legal Aid Department exhibit.
