SHAH ALAM, June 27 — With the Pantai Morib facelift project nearing completion, visitors are eagerly awaiting its reopening while urging the public to help preserve the beach’s cleanliness and upgraded facilities.
Checks by Media Selangor found that although ongoing works have temporarily reduced visitor numbers, the beach remains a popular destination for family recreation.
One regular visitor, Sybleeshah Kaniah, 29, said he frequently visits Pantai Morib with his family, particularly during the weekly festivals held at the beach.
The self-employed visitor said Pantai Morib has long served as a place for families to spend quality time together and stressed the importance of community responsibility in preserving the area.
“Every week there are all kinds of festivals here and it gets very crowded. We always bring our family. It is an awesome experience.
“Take care of the environment. Please do not throw rubbish all over the place. Bringing your family and spending time together is already enough,” he told Media Selangor.

During an interview with Media Selangor, Kuala Langat Irrigation and Drainage Department (JPS) district engineer Mohd Hasrulhisham Abdullah said the RM47 million revitalisation project is currently in its final phase.
Although completion is targeted for July 1, he said full public access will only be allowed once all on-site works have been completed.
Another visitor, Nur Zuharmawati Baharun, 39, expressed excitement about the new bridge at Pantai Morib, which she believes will become a major attraction once the project is completed.
The superintendent with the Selangor Royal Malaysian Customs Department (JKDM) also expressed hope that the upgraded facilities would draw larger crowds and benefit local traders.
“I cannot wait to see the ‘mushroom bridge’ over there because there was nothing like it before. It will become an attraction for me and other visitors.

“I hope even more visitors will come so they can support our traders and make full use of the facilities provided here,” she said.
First-time visitor Davis Michael, 36, an assistant director with JKDM, said he plans to bring his family to Pantai Morib and recommend the destination to his colleagues.
He also suggested that the upgraded beach be promoted more aggressively as a local tourism attraction.
“This is my first time coming here. It is indeed impressive. The existing facilities are beautiful, and I learned they are building an embankment that will become part of the attraction for tourists.
“I hope the facilities at Pantai Morib will be maintained well. We need tourists from outside the area to come and experience the beauty of this place,” he said when met at the food stalls there recently.

Meanwhile, retiree Salmawati Jais, 61, said she plans to bring her children back to the beach, just as she did when they were younger, to show them the changes that have taken place.
“I miss the old atmosphere. God willing, we want to relive those family memories. At the same time, I want to show my children how much the place has changed and how beautiful it has become,” she said.
Salmawati also expressed hope that the upgraded Pantai Morib would grow into a vibrant, sustainable and well-known destination beyond Kuala Langat.
“Hopefully, Pantai Morib will become more vibrant, a sustainable destination and gain greater recognition not only in Kuala Langat but throughout Malaysia. I hope we will see even more visitors coming to the beach,” she added.
