Cops issue 76 summonses, seize seven bikes in Puchong

SHAH ALAM, June 23 — The Subang Jaya district police issued 76 traffic summonses and seized seven motorcycles during an integrated operation at Jalan Jurutera, Kampung Seri Aman in Puchong on Sunday.

District police chief ACP Wan Azlan Wan Mamat said the operation, dubbed Op Motosikal, began at about 5.30 pm and involved personnel from the district’s Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department and the Bukit Puchong police station.

He said the operation was carried out to detect and take action against traffic offenders, as well as to curb activities that could endanger both the perpetrators and other road users.

“Throughout the operation, a total of 85 individuals and 53 motorcycles were inspected. A total of 76 PDRM (K) 257 summonses were issued for various traffic offences.

“In addition, seven motorcycles were confiscated for further action,” he said in a statement yesterday.

PDRM (K) 257 summonses are physical summonses or compound notices issued directly by traffic police officers at the scene when a road traffic offence is detected.

Wan Azlan said the police view all forms of road hooliganism and illegal racing seriously, adding that such activities not only violate the law but can also lead to accidents and fatalities.

He said similar operations would continue from time to time to ensure the safety and security of all road users.

Wan Azlan urged members of the public with information on illegal racing or road hooliganism to report it to the nearest police station or contact the Subang Jaya district police headquarters at 03-7862 7222.
