SHAH ALAM, 21 June — Selangor continues to strengthen the growth of golf sport in the state through the implementation of the Selangor Golf Sports development programme, which focuses on a more structured and continuous development of young talent.
The programme was conducted by the Selangor State Golf Sports Trust Fund Committee in collaboration with the Selangor State Development Corporation’s (PKNS) Golf Management and Services.
Twenty talented golfers were selected to participate in the one-year development programme under the management of Royal Selangor Golf Club to enhance their performance and produce more quality players.
The initiative was formalised during the handover ceremony for the cooperation contract and appointment letter for the Selangor Golf Sports development programme, in conjunction with the closing of the 2026 Selangor Amateur Open Championship at the Bukit Beruntung Golf and Country Resort yesterday.

The ceremony, which was officiated by State Secretary Dato’ Ahmad Fadzli Ahmad Tajuddin, was also attended by Kajang Municipal Council president Mohd Nazli Md Noor, Gombak District Officer Azlina Azizan, and Hulu Selangor Municipal Council deputy president Dewi Dirwana Munasir.
Also present were PKNS Golf Management and Services chief executive officer Mohd Zubir Mohd Yasin and Bukit Beruntung Golf and Country Resort’s manager Mazlan Mazman.
The programme serves as a continuation of Selangor’s efforts to strengthen the golf development ecosystem, including scouting for new talent at the grassroots level.
Meanwhile, the 2026 Selangor Amateur Open Championship, which has been underway since Thursday (June 18) at the same venue, witnessed Rizq Adam Rohizam emerge as the champion for the men’s category, while Nur Batrisyia Balqis Abdul Ghani reigned as the champion for the women’s category.
