KUALA SELANGOR, June 12 — The Selangor government will release a report of an investigation into the Putra Heights gas pipeline explosion once it is greenlit by the federal government, Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said.
He added that the state has no objections to broadcasting the report because it has said from early on that investigation findings must be transparently shared with the public.
However, he said, as the report involves federal agencies including PETRONAS and several court proceedings, and is not fully under the Selangor government’s jurisdiction, it must be assessed before it can be released.
“The state government’s stance from day one has been to release the full report. I have no problem with it and we will ask that it be disclosed,” he said after launching the Jeram 1 Waste-to-Energy (WTE) Plant at the Integrated Solid Waste Management Centre here today.
According to Amirudin, the independent report on the Putra Heights explosion was prepared by a special committee and verified by an on-site team, and will be disclosed to the public as soon as possible.
