SHAH ALAM, June 12 — The state government is exploring collaborations with several South Korean institutions to strengthen Selangor’s care economy, said state executive councillor for women empowerment and welfare Anfaal Saari.
She added that this was discussed during a visit paid to her by a South Korean delegation yesterday, whose members shared care economy ideas and experiences.
“The delegation comprised representatives from Yonggak Medical Foundation, Gyeongju Girls’ Information High School, AL Networks, Jiseong Eng Co Ltd, Hanshin Hospital, and Dream Corporation. Also present was Shah Alam ex-MP Khalid Abdul Samad,” she said in a Facebook post today.
According to Anfaal, the delegation shared its vast experience, with the session involving presentations of statistical data, implementation examples, and best practices in the care economy.
She said her office has taken note of South Korea’s approach to development rehabilitation centres, long-term care services, and community-based care models.
“Many lessons can be learnt and adapted to our community’s needs in Selangor, God willing,” she added.
She also said the visit wasn’t just to exchange views, but was a chance to make connections and explore strategic partnerships for the future.
“I believe the care industry has huge potential and could become one of the state’s development drivers. May this be the starting point of closer ties between both countries,” Anfaal added.
