SHAH ALAM, June 12 — Preparations for the 2026 Selangor edition of the Malaysia Games (SUKMA) have entered the final sprint, with overall readiness reaching approximately 95 per cent.
Selangor SUKMA Secretariat chief executive officer Dato' Mohd Yazid Sairi said the progress covers logistics, competition management systems, as well as upgrading works on the facilities and venues that will be used throughout the Games.
"I can say that, in terms of logistical preparations, we are already in the final stage. Around 95 per cent of the work has been completed.
"In July, we will conduct site visits to ensure that the venues and facilities selected for the sporting events in each district and local authority area are in the best possible condition," he told Media Selangor.
He said technical preparations, including competition management systems, scoring systems and the required sporting equipment, were also nearing completion.

"In terms of logistical and technical preparations, such as scoring systems, sports-related equipment and certification from the relevant sports bodies, everything is almost complete.
"Overall, I would consider our preparations to be at a very good level," he said.
Meanwhile, Mohd Yazid said preparations involving Selangor athletes, coordinated by the State Sports Council, had also entered the final phase.
He said athletes continued to gain exposure through participation in various competitions to ensure they would be at their peak performance ahead of the Games.
"This is part of our preparations to ensure our athletes are at their best when SUKMA is held in August," he said.
The 22nd edition of SUKMA is scheduled to take place from August 15 to 24, while PARA SUKMA will be held from September 5 to 10.
A total of 469 events across 37 sports will be contested in nine districts involving 52 venues. PARA SUKMA, meanwhile, will feature 10 sports and 316 events to be held in the Petaling and Klang districts.
