SJKT Kuala Kubu Bharu land issue resolved after 20 years

SHAH ALAM, June 9 — A land ownership and gazettement issue involving SJKT Kuala Kubu Bharu has been resolved after nearly two decades, said state executive councillor for human resources and poverty eradication Papparaidu Veraman today.

In a Facebook post today, Papparaidu, who joined a work visit with Deputy Education Minister Wong Kah Woh to the school, said the land issue began in 2007, while an application for land ownership was submitted to the Education Ministry (MOE) in 2021.

“When this issue was brought to the attention of the deputy minister during his visit in 2024, I promised to ensure all matters and approvals concerning the Selangor state government would be coordinated and expedited to help resolve this issue.

“A recent review in 2026 revealed the land has been successfully gazetted as a school site,” he said.

Papparaidu said the school has been granted a permanent title for an area measuring 0.23ha, thus providing certainty to the school to plan future development and facilities.

He said that Wong announced an additional allocation of RM100,000 from the MOE to the school.

Papparaidu also noted that the Selangor government will provide an allocation of RM60,000, with half of the amount designated for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programmes.

The remaining half would fund renovations and infrastructure upgrades to improve learning environments.

“I also express my appreciation to Kuala Kubu Bharu assemblyman Pang Sock Tao and all quarters who have worked tirelessly to ensure the resolution of the SJKT Kuala Kubu Bharu land gazettement issue.

“This success is the result of collective effort, proving that when the federal government, state government, Hulu Selangor District and Land Office (PDT), Hulu Selangor Municipal Council (MPHS), Selangor Lands and Mines Office (PTG), (State) Education Department, school administration, parent-teacher association, and the local community together, no problem is beyond solving for the sake of the younger generation’s future education.

“May this success serve as a catalyst for our children’s educational excellence and benefit future generations,” Papparaidu said.
