SHAH ALAM, June 8 — A viral social media claim alleging that an aircraft was stranded in the Sungai Kandis area of Section 26 here has been confirmed to be false.
Shah Alam district police chief ACP Ramsay Embol said police received information regarding the claim at 11.55 am yesterday before carrying out efforts to trace the purported aircraft.
He said checks were conducted around the reported location based on the coordinates (3.0407719, 101.4824838) displayed in a Facebook post that had gone viral.
“Searches found no aircraft stranded at the location as claimed by the owner of the Facebook account.
“Therefore, the statement or claim made through the post is false,” he said in a statement yesterday.
Ramsay advised the public not to spread unverified information or engage in speculation that could cause unnecessary concern among the community.
Earlier, a social media post went viral showing a screenshot of a flight-tracking map indicating an aircraft near the area, accompanied by the caption: “What is that aircraft doing beside Sungai Klang in Sungai Kandis?”
