KUALA LUMPUR, May 30 — The Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj and the Tengku Permaisuri of Selangor Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin graciously attended and toured the Kuala Lumpur International Book Fair (KLIBF) 2026 yesterday.
The arrival of Their Royal Highnesses at the World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur (WTCKL) at 3.30pm was welcomed by WTCKL Group Managing Director Datuk Seri Irmohizam Ibrahim.
Also in attendance to greet the royal couple was the Tengku Laksamana of Selangor Tengku Sulaiman Shah Almarhum Sultan Salahuddin.
Sultan Sharafuddin and Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin graciously visited exhibition booths and took photographs with visitors before departing at approximately 5.30pm.
KLIBF 2026 is being held over 10 days at WTCKL beginning today, featuring more than 1,000 booths involving hundreds of publishers and exhibitors from Malaysia and abroad, including Saudi Arabia, Brunei, Indonesia, and China.
Among the featured booths are the Darul Ehsan Book Initiative at Lot 630, as well as Buku Fixi, DuBook Press, Patriot Publishing, and Akademi Jawi Malaysia.
Meanwhile, the Selangor Pavilion featured the programme 'Heart and Mind: Literary Figures and Creative Writers' on the opening day with Monash University lecturer Nazirul Hazim A. Khalim.
The book fair is open to the public from 10am to 10pm.
