SHAH ALAM, May 29 — Applications for the public transport fare subsidy under the Selangor Resilience Enhancement Package will open from June 1, involving the first 50,000 applicants.
The State Secretary’s Office said the special initiative was introduced to help ease the public’s transportation costs amid current cost-of-living pressures.
Eligible applicants will receive a fare subsidy of RM30 per month for six months, subject to the stipulated terms and approval.
“Through this special initiative, eligible Selangor residents will receive a fare subsidy of RM30 per month for six months, subject to the stipulated terms and approval,” it said in a Facebook post.
The Office also advised the public to make preparations early, as applications are expected to receive an overwhelming response.
Users may download the NINE app and complete the electronic Know Your Customer verification process before applications officially open.
Previously, the state government introduced the Package, involving an allocation of RM131 million, to address the impact of the geopolitical crisis in West Asia.
