SEPANG, May 25 — A total of 28 Malaysian activists previously detained by Israel while participating in the Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF) 2.0 humanitarian mission arrived safely at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) late last night.
They were welcomed by Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari, who is also the head of the GSF 2.0 delegation, together with more than 100 family members and supporters at the KLIA arrival hall.
Media previously reported that all 428 GSF 2.0 activists, including 29 Malaysians, detained by Israel in international waters had been released.
However, another Malaysian activist, Razman Mat Ali, is still receiving treatment in Istanbul, Turkiye after being diagnosed with traumatic pneumothorax, or a punctured lung, after allegedly being punched by Israeli soldiers.

Wisma Putra had earlier announced that all activists underwent health examinations before being scheduled to return home.
Earlier, Amirudin described the detention of the 29 Malaysians participating in the GSF 2.0 mission as an “abduction” by the Zionist regime.
A picture captured from a video shared by Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir on platform X showed him mocking flotilla activists who were tied up and forced to bend over and kneel while detained in Israel on May 20, 2026.
According to Amirudin, the activists were also subjected to pressure and physical abuse while being detained in international waters before being released.
On April 4, Amirudin was entrusted by Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim to lead the Malaysian Emergency Aid Mission to Gaza and the GSF 2.0 delegation.

The mission was mobilised by the Malaysian Consultative Council of Islamic Organisations (MAPIM) in collaboration with Cinta Gaza Malaysia and several other non-governmental organisations (NGOs), together with strategic partners, to break the blockade on Gaza.
Meanwhile, Sumud Nusantara Command Center (SNCC) director-general Datuk Sani Araby Abdul Alim Araby said the GSF 2.0 mission had successfully exerted significant pressure on Israel while drawing global attention to the regime’s alleged cruelty towards humanitarian activists.
He said international pressure had also shaken Israel, leading to efforts to dissolve the Knesset following the circulation of videos allegedly showing rough treatment of GSF 2.0 activists.
