SHAH ALAM, May 19 — Successful industrial transformation can only be achieved through strong collaboration and integrated ecosystem support rather than isolated efforts, said Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Amirudin Shari.
Industries, particularly small and medium enterprises, require more than just technology to remain competitive.
“Industries do not only need technology. They also need access to expertise, mentorship, talent, networks, and practical implementation support.
"Transformation cannot happen in silos. Integrated ecosystems are necessary to give companies the confidence and capability to move forward in an increasingly challenging global environment," he said during the launch of the SINERGI powered by Selangor Human Resource Development Centre (SHRDC) today.
SINERGI is a collaborative ecosystem initiative by the centre that brings together industry, academic, and technology partners to strengthen Selangor’s transition toward a high-value, innovation-driven economy.
The initiative reflects SHRDC’s role as an integrated talent and industrial development hub that aligns skills training with industry needs while promoting collaboration to accelerate digital transformation, attract high-tech investment and build a future-ready workforce.
Amirudin added that SINERGI reflects how public-private collaboration can strengthen industrial competitiveness, accelerate digital and green transformation, and support long-term economic resilience.

He also commended SHRDC for evolving beyond a conventional skills-training institution into an important industrial development partner, connecting government, industry players, technology providers, academia, and ecosystem partners.
Later, Amirudin said that more than 60 strategic partners participated in SINERGI, describing their commitment as crucial in supporting Selangor’s industrial future.
“We can create greater value not only for businesses, but also for the state economy and ultimately the people when government and industry move in the same direction,” he told Media Selangor after the event.
The Menteri Besar noted that SHRDC has become an important centre for reskilling and upskilling talent to meet industry needs, particularly in sectors involving advanced technologies and manufacturing.
"Investments entering Selangor often come together with new technologies, making talent development and industry collaboration increasingly important to ensure the workforce is prepared for future demands,” Amirudin said.
He observed that 2,000 trainees undergo training at SHRDC annually, with participants encouraged not only to use technology but also to solve industrial challenges and develop future innovations.
