SHAH ALAM, May 15 — Selangor has spent RM989 million under the First Rolling Plan of the 13th Malaysia Plan (13MP) as of May 4, said Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.
He said this amount represents 27.24 per cent of the total RM3.63 billion allocation to implement 13MP projects and programmes in the state.
He added that the achievement exceeds the national average and urged agencies and departments to expedite high-impact projects so more people may enjoy results from the state’s progress.
“Amid global economic uncertainties, the entire state and federal government machinery must move in an integrated manner to ensure every policy and project truly benefits the people.
“District officials and departments must also be more proactive in identifying the people’s urgent needs, especially (with) small, high-impact projects that cannot be delayed,” he said in a Facebook post today.
Amirudin said the second meeting of the Selangor State Development Action Council, which he chaired today, focused on monitoring the implementation of state development projects and follow-up actions on key issues that affect the people’s well-being.
Among the issues covered were flood mitigation efforts, road management, industrial waste-to-energy (WTE) development, and projects requiring immediate action and close monitoring.
The council also took note of the Royal address by Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj at the opening of the Selangor State Legislative Assembly sitting last month, which highlighted the importance of effective solutions to infrastructure issues.
The council also covered the recent Selangor State and Petaling District Development Meeting with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, which touched on matters including solid waste management, illegally built houses of worship, and livestock farming.
