SHAH ALAM, May 11 — The Kuala Langat Municipal Council (MPKL) has conducted integrated operations in the factory areas around Jalan Puyuh in Telok Panglima Garang to monitor open burning.
The operation involved MPKL’s Zone 3 Councillor, its Solid Waste Management and Environmental Health Department, its Enforcement Department, its Licensing Department, its Building Control Department, its Development Planning Department, its Engineering Department, and the MPKL Legal Unit.
The local authority said that the inspection found that several premises were operating without a license. Other violations included open burning, waste dumping, earthworks, and the construction of structures without approval and planning permission from MPKL.
MPKL issued 26 offence notices and 20 notification notices for offences under the Local Government Act 1976; the Street, Drainage and Building Act 1974; the Town and Country Planning Act 1976, and the MPKL By-Laws
“Instructions for cleaning the area and compliance with approvals were also given to the premises involved.
“MPKL will continue to intensify enforcement actions against any party that fails to comply with the law and affects public well-being,” it said in a Facebook post.
