SHAH ALAM, Oct 15 — A restaurant in Banting was ordered shut due to poor hygiene during an inspection by the Kuala Langat Municipal Council (MPKL) and Kuala Langat District Health Office (PKDKL).
According to MPKL, nine notices were issued, including four under the Food Establishments By-Laws 2007 and two under the Advertisement By-Laws 2007.
The offences included operating without a licence, failing to maintain cleanliness, discharging dirty liquid into drains, and food handlers not wearing aprons or head coverings.
“The offences also included displaying business advertisements without approval,” MPKL said in a statement.
PKDKL issued the restaurant owner with two notices under the Food Hygiene Regulations 2009 for failing to register the premises on the Food Safety Information System (FoSIM) and using an uncovered rubbish bin.
Another notice was issued under the Control of Smoking Products for Public Health Act 2024 for not putting up a “no smoking” sign.
MPKL advised eatery owners and operators in Kuala Langat to prioritise cleanliness and comply with the laws and regulations to ensure public health.
