State Hajj incentive eases pilgrims’ preparations, supports family expenses

AMPANG JAYA, April 26 — A RM1,500 incentive contribution for Muassasah Hajj pilgrims is helping to ease their preparations for the pilgrimage while also supporting the needs of families left behind.

Recipient Farah Diana Mohd Bazain, 47, said the assistance is especially meaningful in helping to cover the needs of her schoolgoing children while she and her husband, Mohd Hisham Ramlee, 50, are in Saudi Arabia.

“Alhamdulillah (God be praised), we are grateful as it helps us further with our preparations. Any remaining amount can also help support the children I will be leaving behind who are still in school.

“So this will help the children while we are away,” she said after the presentation ceremony for the 2026 Muassasah Hajj Incentive, officiated by Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari at Masjid Al-Hidayah in Taman Melawati today.

Another recipient, Mohd Diah Dumpok, 58, said the assistance would be used as best as possible to cover expenses while he and his wife are in Makkah and Madinah.

“We are very grateful for the contribution and hope it will help with our expenses while in the Holy Land of Mecca and also in Medina. InsyaAllah (God willing), we will use it as best as possible,” he said.

Earlier, Amirudin presented the incentive to 236 prospective pilgrims from the Gombak Parliamentary constituency, including the state constituencies of Sungai Tua, Gombak Setia, and Hulu Kelang.

He said 6,000 Muassasah Hajj pilgrims from Selangor are targeted to receive the incentive this year, with around 600 from Gombak.

“This amount has been increased from RM1,000 to RM1,500 in 2026. If there is an opportunity, next year or in 2028, InsyaAllah, we can increase it to RM2,000 as outlined in the 'Five Promises, Five Thrusts, and Five Years' plan presented during the previous state election,” Amirudin said.
