SABAK BERNAM, April 26 — A RM1,500 contribution from the state government to Muassasah Hajj pilgrims from the Sungai Air Tawar state constituency has helped ease the cost of their preparations to travel to Saudi Arabia.
The son of a prospective pilgrim, Mohammad Raimi Rosnan, said the assistance has been very helpful with preparations and expenses in Makkah, as the cost of performing the Hajj continues to rise each year.
“This assistance is very helpful in terms of meals and preparations there. The cost of Hajj is not small, so this contribution truly provides relief to families,” he said.

Earlier, 25 pilgrims from the constituency received the incentive, presented by Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari during a ceremony at Masjid Ubudiah, Sungai Air Tawar yesterday.
Meanwhile, Muhammad Zailani Somingan said the incentive is also used to cover initial needs before departing for the Holy Land.
He acknowledged that financial preparation for Hajj requires strong discipline and is also influenced by currency exchange factors.
“Exchange rate factors also have an impact, so this assistance helps to ease the burden to some extent,” Zailani said.

For Rita Ariyani Aminudin, the aid is particularly meaningful, especially for Muassasah pilgrims who need to manage part of their own needs while in Makkah.
“This contribution reflects the state government’s concern for the welfare of prospective Hajj pilgrims,” she said.

Selangor is continuing the RM1,500 Muassasah Hajj Incentive for 6,000 prospective pilgrims from Selangor this year, an increase of RM500 compared to RM1,000 previously.
The incentive was approved under the 2026 Selangor Budget, with a total allocation of RM9 million.
