Selangor State Legislative Assembly opens with Royal ceremony graced by Sultan

STEEPED in custom and tradition, the opening ceremony for the First Meeting of the Fourth Term of the 15th Selangor State Legislative Assembly was held today at the assembly hall in Shah Alam.

Gracing the opening ceremony was Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj, who was accompanied by Tengku Permaisuri of Selangor Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin and Raja Muda of Selangor Tengku Amir Shah.

The Royals’ presence brightened the ceremony and reflected the Royal institution’s unshakeable role in Selangor’s administrative system.

Since its establishment, the state assembly has seen policies debated and formulated that have shaped Selangor’s direction. From its early stages of modern administration to today, the hall has witnessed important moments in leadership changes, development policy tablings, and debates on people’s issues that reflect Selangor’s pulse as among the fastest-growing states in Malaysia.

In line with changing times, the assembly’s roles have continued growing, but its foundation remains as an institution that uplifts parliamentary democracy and constitutional monarchy.
