SHAH ALAM, Apr 19 — Investigations into an incident involving a teacher who rammed into two students, killing one in front of the surau at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Tanjong Mas last Sunday, are still ongoing.
Attorney General Tan Sri Mohd Dusuki Mokhtar said the Attorney General’s Chambers has yet to receive the investigation papers from the police.
“The prosecution office in Kelantan has been briefed by the police. Our instruction is for further investigation to be carried out before any decision is made.
“Therefore, at this stage, the investigation is still ongoing by the police and the investigation papers have not been received,” he said when contacted.
Previously, Kelantan police chief Datuk Mohd Yusoff Mamat said the 57-year-old teacher is expected to be charged in the near future.
The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987, and the suspect has been released on police bail.
In the incident at about 1.50 pm, a Form One female student died at the scene after suffering severe head and body injuries, while another student was injured.
