Education Ministry extends support to family of deceased SJKT teacher

SHAH ALAM, Aug 5 — The Education Ministry is extending assistance to the family of an SJKT Ladang Kerling teacher who recently died.

Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek, who visited the family at their home, urged the public to respect their privacy and refrain from speculating about the circumstances surrounding the teacher's death.

"The Ministry of Education is mobilising all possible efforts to ensure that the family of the deceased and the affected school staff receive the best support," she said in a Facebook post.

During the visit, Fadhlina offered her support to the family and stressed that the public should leave the matter to the police, as investigations are still ongoing.

"Today, I met a family who is going through the most difficult time of their lives. I am here to ensure that this family is heard and not left to go through this difficult time alone.

"I have heard firsthand what they wanted to convey and all their frustrations. I understand that many out there want answers about what really happened. But while the investigation is still ongoing, this family needs space, not speculation.

"We want the family to be given the space to grieve, the school community to get the support they need, and any action taken after this is based on the facts of the investigation, not assumptions on social media," she said.

Fadhlina added that Education director-general Datuk Dr Mohd Azam Ahmad had also visited SJKT Ladang Kerling to meet the school's administrators and teachers to ensure welfare and psychosocial support were being provided.

She also reiterated her call for members of the education community to remain attentive to the well-being of those around them.

"Look at the friend next to us. Ask them how they are. Take a moment to listen.

"We may not be able to solve all of someone's problems. But we can make sure they don't have to face them alone. We take care of each other," she said.
