SHAH ALAM, April 16 — Selangor will provide RM100 in cash aid to 50,000 residents and roll out a free breakfast programme in schools as part of a RM131 million stimulus package aimed at strengthening the state’s economic resilience amid global uncertainties.
Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the Selangor Resilience Enhancement Package (Pakej Pengukuhan Daya Tahan Selangor) Phase 1 was formulated following a review of its annual budget and the implementation of several cost-saving measures.
Initiatives under the package will begin rolling out in June, he said.
“After reviewing the annual budget and undertaking several savings measures, the state government, including its agencies, will allocate RM131 million for this first phase of the resilience strengthening package,” he said in a press conference today.
The state government is introducing the Kita Selangor Voucher, providing RM100 monthly aid for six months to 50,000 households, with a total allocation of RM30 million, to cushion the impact of inflation on the rakyat.
“This is to ensure that no one falls into hardcore poverty if they lose their job or source of income within the year.”
On the free breakfast programme, Amirudin said the state, through its 12 local authorities, will provide free meals to students in all 873 schools in Selangor beginning in August to ease the financial burden on parents.
“Every day, one school in each local authority area will receive this assistance,” he said.
Similarly, the stimulus package will see an additional RM5 million allocated for the Jelajah Ehsan Rahmah programme, implemented through Selangor Agricultural Development Corporation (PKPS), which will be held monthly across all state constituencies.
“This initiative will help ease the cost of living for low-income households and is expected to benefit up to 168,000 households. This is in addition to the existing RM5 million allocation, bringing the programme's total allocation in 2026 to RM10 million.

“Meanwhile, to strengthen food supply reserves, the state government will allocate RM50 million for the Selangor Food Warehouse, comprising RM25 million from state funds and RM25 million from PKPS reserves,” Amirudin said.
To promote public transport usage, RM30 in monthly support for 50,000 residents over six months will be provided to offset commuting costs for demand-responsive transit (DRT) vans, buses, and trains.
“For this, RM5.4 million will be allocated, in addition to the original RM5 million, bringing the total allocation for public transportation to RM10.4 million,” he said.
To support food producers affected by rising fuel costs, the Menteri Besar said RM25 million has been allocated to farmers, fishermen, livestock breeders, and aquaculture operators.
Around 18,000 paddy farmers will receive RM500 per hectare per season, while 2,000 fishermen will be given RM300 monthly for six months.
Amirudin added that farmers, livestock breeders, and aquaculture operators will also receive RM450 monthly for six months to help absorb rising input costs and prevent further increases in food prices.
He also announced support for micro and small businesses, especially in the retail sector, with RM6 million to be channelled through KoHIJRAH to help cooperatives manage operational and inventory costs.
Meanwhile, the Selangor Platform, meanwhile, will be expanded from May to allow more local traders to benefit from the state’s ecosystem.
For key industries such as construction, manufacturing and logistics, Amirudin said the state, through Invest Selangor Bhd and the State Economic Planning Unit, will conduct a series of engagement sessions with industry players to proactively address supply chain issues.
