SHAH ALAM, April 13 — The Kajang Municipal Council (MPKj) has sealed 13 storefronts following an integrated enforcement operation targeting premises suspected of being operated by foreigners.
It said that of the 18 storefronts inspected during the operation, 13 have been shut for breaching the council’s licensing conditions and regulations.
Two compounds and three warnings were issued for offences under the Trade, Business and Industrial Licensing By-Laws (MPKj) 2007.
“The operation was carried out on April 8 in Section 1, Bandar Baru Bangi, covering areas around Diamond Bangi and Jalan Medan Bangi.
“The operation involved officers from MPKj’s Enforcement Department and Licensing and Hawkers Department, and was aimed at monitoring and acting against premises believed to be operated by foreigners in violation of local regulations,” the council said in a Facebook post.
MPKj said it will ramp up enforcement, especially against premises operated by foreigners.
The council asserted that it would not tolerate any violations of the law, and would ensure residents’ well-being and maintain public order.
