New Klang Valley train schedule from April 18 — KTMB

KUALA LUMPUR, April 9 — Keretapi Tanah Melayu Bhd (KTMB) will restructure the Klang Valley KTM Komuter schedule for the Pulau Sebang-Batu Caves-Pulau Sebang route, effective April 18.

KTMB in a statement today said this is due to infrastructure upgrades for the Klang Valley Electric Double-Track Project Phase 2 (KVDT2) between the Salak Selatan and Seremban stations.

According to the statement, the restructuring would allow upgrades to the 67km track to be performed safely and efficiently, and expedite completion.

“This involves operating using a single-track system to ensure the continuity of passenger and freight train services on the affected routes.

“This rationalisation involves upgrading the track system, signalling, and infrastructure to improve the safety, stability and efficiency of rail services and the reliability of the rail system in the long term,” read the statement.

During the implementation period, expected to last until the end of December, the morning and evening peak frequency for KTM Komuter services on the Pulau Sebang-Batu Caves-Pulau Sebang route will be optimised to five trains with an interval of 15 and 30 minutes

“During this implementation period, no KTM Komuter services will operate from 10am to 4pm on the Midvalley-Pulau Sebang and Pulau Sebang-Bandar Tasik Selatan routes,” KTMB added.

The track between Salak Selatan and Seremban stations will be closed from 10pm to 6am for maintenance and upgrades.

The restructuring also involves adjusting the timetable and train numbers for two electric train services (ETS) on the JB Sentral-KL Sentral-JB Sentral route.

According to KTMB, train EP9530 (formerly EP9536) from JB Sentral to KL Sentral will now depart at 3pm and arrive at 7.20pm, while, train EP9535 (formerly EP9537) from KL Sentral to JB Sentral will depart at 8pm and arrive at 12.20am.

The remaining ETS and KTM Cargo coaches will operate as usual.

Commuters are advised to plan their journeys and check timetables on KTMB’s website or social media channels, or contact the KTMB Call Centre at 03-9779 1200.
