KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 26 — Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) is offering an additional 11,888 seats on its train services for the upcoming Deepavali celebrations on November 8.
It will operate two additional Electric Train Service (ETS) trips daily on the Padang Besar-KL Sentral-Padang Besar route from November 5 to November 9, as well as four additional daily trips on the JB Sentral-KL Sentral-JB Sentral route from November 6 to November 9.
“A total of 3,160 extra seats will be offered on the Padang Besar-KL Sentral-Padang Besar route, with business-class coaches available throughout the five days of operation. Tickets will be available for purchase from noon tomorrow.
“Meanwhile, KTMB is offering 5,056 extra seats on four daily ETS trips between JB Sentral and KL Sentral in both directions from November 6 to November 9. Tickets for the route have been on sale since September 7," it said in a statement today.
Besides ETS services, KTMB will provide 3,672 seats on EMUPlus trains serving the Bandar Tasek Selatan-Ipoh-Klang route in both directions on selected dates between November 5 and November 9. Ticket sales will begin at noon tomorrow.
It added that the initiative is part of ongoing efforts to increase rail transport capacity, particularly during festive periods when demand for intercity travel typically rises.
“We hope these additional services will provide passengers with a smoother, more comfortable and safer journey,” KTMB said.
Tickets are available through the KTMB Mobile and KITS Style apps, as well as KTMB’s official website, offering passengers a faster and more convenient cashless payment option.
It also advised passengers to plan their journeys and buy tickets early to take advantage of more economical flexible fares and avoid last-minute bookings.
