SHAH ALAM, Apr 9 — The installation of six solar street lights in Kampung Orang Asli Bukit Dugang, Dengkil has improved safety for local residents, particularly at night.
State executive councillor for Orang Asli affairs Papparaidu Veraman said the installations not only provides lighting but also supports the community’s daily movement.
He said the solar lights also benefit Orang Asli children who leave early for school, allowing them to travel in safer and more comfortable conditions.
“More importantly, this effort sends a clear message that the Orang Asli community is not left behind in the development process,” he said in a Facebook post yesterday.

Papparaidu officiated the installation of the lights at Kampung Orang Asli Bukit Dugang, Dengkil yesterday, according to a photo shared on his Facebook page.
He said the provision of basic amenities is part of the state government’s ongoing efforts to ensure the well-being of all segments of society.
He stressed that every community, including the Orang Asli, has the right to enjoy proper facilities without any development gap.
“We want to ensure that every segment of society enjoys the basic amenities they deserve,” he added.
At the same time, he expressed hope that the initiative would encourage the Orang Asli community to continue progressing and remain competitive.
Papparaidu also said continuous support is needed to enable the community to advance further in various fields.
He added that the Orang Asli community has the potential to become a future generation of leaders of the nation if given sufficient opportunities and support.
