SHAH ALAM, Apr 6 — Yayasan Insan Istimewa Selangor (YANIS) is intensifying early detection of child development issues through a screening programme in Shah Alam to ensure access to appropriate intervention.
The Early Childhood Development Screening Programme was held at the YANIS Early Education Centre at the IDCC building on Saturday, focusing on comprehensive developmental assessments.
In conjunction with Autism Awareness Month, the programme also aims to raise awareness of the importance of early detection and continuous support for children on the autism spectrum.
YANIS said the initiative is intended to ensure every child receives support and education suited to their individual needs.
“This programme focuses on comprehensive developmental assessments as an initial step in ensuring every child gains access to appropriate intervention and educational support,” it said in a statement.
The programme was attended by executive councillor for social welfare Anfaal Saari, as well as Batu Tiga assemblyman and Selangor Disabled Persons Action Council (MTOS) chairman Danial Al-Rashid Haron.

Also present were YANIS chief executive officer Ar Kamarul Hisham Yeop Hashim and general manager Abdul Qayyum M Suhaimi.
YANIS said the programme reflects its continued commitment to building an inclusive early education ecosystem and strengthening support for children with special needs to ensure they are not left behind in development.
“May every effort serve as an early step in opening more opportunities and hope for future generations,” it added.
