SHAH ALAM, April 3 — A passenger fell on the LRT tracks at the Abdullah Hukum station in Kuala Lumpur today at 6.09pm, suffering injuries to her hands and face.
Rapid Rail Sdn Bhd said the incident temporarily halted services at the Universiti, Kerinchi, and Abdullah Hukum LRT stations.
“Power supply to these stations was deactivated as a safety measure and to allow police, rescue and ambulance teams to operate at the scene.
“Alternative (transport) services including free shuttle buses were activated to facilitate passenger mobility,” it said in a statement today.
Meanwhile, Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) operations commander Wan Mohd Shahriri Azizi Wan Said said in a statement that the 39-year-old woman had been pinned under the LRT coach.
“The Kuala Lumpur Operations Command Centre received an emergency call at 6.19pm about a pinned victim, and a nine-strong team from the Pantai Fire and Rescue Station was sent to the scene.
“The victim suffered injuries to her hands and face. She was extricated at 6.38pm and first aid was administered before she was sent to Kuala Lumpur Hospital,” he added.
Shahriri Azizi said LRT services resumed after the rescue was completed.
