HULU LANGAT, April 2 — The state government, through the Selangor Housing and Property Board (LPHS), has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Trans Loyal Development Bhd to expand the people’s access to quality affordable homes, said Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.
He expressed confidence that the cooperation would catalyse the expedited delivery of a targeted 200,000 units of quality affordable homes by 2028.
“I am happy today because Trans Loyal and LPHS signed an MOU to build 26,405 homes overall … Rumah Selangorku Oleander was prepared in the format of Rumah Idaman MBI and Rumah Selangorku Harapan.
“God willing, we are trying our best to fulfil our promises to build 200,000 affordable homes, which will be constructed with development efforts from investors and the state government,” he said.

Speaking at the officiation of the MOU signing and key handover ceremony for Residensi Selangorku Oleander in Beranang here today, Amirudin said the strategic cooperation would ensure no one is left behind in home ownership through the Smart Sewa Scheme.
He explained that the scheme is among the state government’s innovations and policy changes to ensure economic challenges and crises may be effectively managed and allow the people to own homes.
“I am confident that with various parties, we can fulfil the people’s needs and hopes with various methods like the Smart Sewa programme, because housing development projects like this not only avail homes to buy, but also homes to rent under the Smart Sewa programme.
“The overall value regained by the state government with this construction is about RM25 million to RM26 million, with more than 100 units to be handed back to the state government for Smart Sewa.
“With Smart Sewa, renters will wait for between two and five years to save up, because 30 per cent of the rent, we will (use) to buy other units that will be built by (other) housing developers,” he added.

Meanwhile, Trans Loyal Development chairman Dato’ Mohd Amin Ahmad Ahya said the company has built 5,746 units of affordable homes under the Rumah Selangorku initiative.
“We are also in the building phase for 8,219 Rumah Selangorku units that have received local authorities’ approval in various districts around Selangor,” he said.
Earlier, Amirudin officiated a key handover ceremony to 30 Residensi Selangorku Oleander homebuyers. The units were sold at RM288,800 each.
Each unit comes with three bedrooms, three bathrooms, two covered carpark lots, three air-conditioners, three water heaters, a refrigerator, a television, and full furnishings.
