SHAH ALAM, Oct 30 — The Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS) and Petronas Dagangan Berhad (PDB) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to explore cooperation in identifying PKNS land for developing petrol stations and supporting service facilities.
PKNS said the strategic collaboration between PKNS’s Land Management Division and PDB’s Retail Network and Property Division under its Fuel Retail Department will optimise the utilisation of PKNS’s land assets.
The MOU also opens up opportunities to explore new business ventures that could yield long-term benefits for both organisations.
“Under this collaborative framework, both parties will conduct feasibility studies and detailed evaluations on potential locations to determine the suitability and viability of proposed developments before any final decisions are made,” it said in a statement.
PKNS added that the partnership creates opportunities for PKNS Group subsidiaries across various sectors, including petrol station operations, supporting services, property development, construction and maintenance, security services, insurance, co-branding, and non-fuel retail operations.
This involvement could leverage the PKNS Group's existing expertise and capabilities to support the implementation and operation of these facilities.
“This initiative is expected to generate new business opportunities, strengthen synergies among PKNS Group subsidiaries, and enhance service amenities for the local community.
“At the same time, this collaboration with PDB reflects PKNS’s commitment to strategically leveraging its assets to support Selangor’s socioeconomic growth and development,” it said.
PKNS Land Management manager Mohd Hilmi Muda and PDB Fuel Retail Department general manager Mohd Feiruz Mohd Ghazali signed the MOU.
The signing ceremony held in Kuala Lumpur was witnessed by PKNS group deputy chief executive officer (Strategic Joint Ventures) Md Kamarzan Md Rais and PDB Retail Network and Property Division senior manager Mohamed Rafik Rahmat.
