SHAH ALAM, April 2 — The Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) took firm action yesterday by dismantling an illegal two-storey cabin structure at Rosa Apartment in Section 7, Kota Damansara.
The operation was led by Petaling Jaya Mayor Dato’ Mohamad Zahri Samingon, with Kota Damansara assemblyman Muhammad Izuan Ahmad Kasim, MBPJ Zone 3 councillor Muhamad Shazwan Suhaimi, and MBPJ director for building controls Ismathinoon Abd Rahman also present.
MBPJ said the structure was torn down as the owner has refused to obey orders issued by the council since September 2024.
It said residents in neighbouring areas had expressed concern about the cabin, citing safety problems, fire hazards, and the potential blocking of emergency access.
It added that it would enforce the law to keep residents safe.
“MBPJ … is committed to taking action against any illegal structure to ensure residents’ well-being and keep Petaling Jaya safe, happy, and sustainable.
The operation was held in cooperation with the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM).
