SHAH ALAM, March 30 — The Selangor Road Transport Department issued 6,688 notices following checks on 45,140 vehicles during the 2026 Hari Raya Aidilfitri (HRA) Operation, which ran from March 13 until yesterday.
During this period, 1,789 vehicles were taken action against for various offences under the Road Transport Act 1987, according to Harian Metro.
Selangor JPJ director Azrin Borhan said 334 enforcement officers were deployed to monitor and operate at strategic locations, including major highways, bus depots, public terminals and high-risk areas.
“The main offences involved expired motor vehicle licences (1,058 cases), no valid driving licence (942), no insurance (728), technical offences (919) and overloading (45 cases),” he said.

He added that compliance among goods vehicles improved, with only nine lorries found violating regulations during four days of enforcement.
Most lorries on the road were allowed vehicles, including those transporting daily necessities and containers to ports, while unloaded lorries are permitted to operate between 8 am and 8 pm.
Azrin said JPJ will continue to strengthen enforcement to improve road law compliance and reduce accident risks.
He also reminded the public to ensure their vehicles are roadworthy, drive responsibly, and submit complaints via the MyJPJ app or JPJ’s official email.
