SHAH ALAM, March 23 — More than RM1 million has been allocated to upgrade facilities at the Shah Alam Hospital in order to improve the quality and comfort of healthcare services for the public.
Batu Tiga state assemblyman Danial Al-Rashid Haron said the move is important to ensure the public healthcare system remains sustainable, responsive, and prepared to meet future needs.
“The Shah Alam Hospital is the main specialist hospital in the Petaling district, operating since January 11, 2016. It covers 30 acres and offers 15 medical specialities.
“At present, the hospital, which was originally designed for 300 beds, is now operating with around 490 beds, in line with the needs of a population that has reached 2.4 million residents in this high-density area.
“As such, there are plans to construct a new block to add around 400 bed capacity, including multi-storey parking facilities to accommodate the increase in patients and visitors,” he said in a Facebook post.
Danial also expressed thanked the Health Ministry and the hospital's management for their continued commitment to strengthening healthcare services for the public.
