KUALA LANGAT, March 17 — The 2026 Hari Raya Bingkisan Programme for the Tanjong Sepat state constituency is focusing on assisting overlooked groups as part of preparations for the upcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebrations.
Tanjong Sepat state assemblyman Datuk Borhan Aman Shah said the initiative was implemented to ensure those who no longer receive regular aid are still supported.
“This programme is organised because I see that there may be some we have overlooked. Those who received the Jom Shopping aid last year may not receive it this year as priority is given to those who have yet to benefit,” he said.
Borhan was speaking to Media Selangor during the programme at Dewan Kebudayaan Pantai Batu Laut today.
He added that assistance in the form of basic necessities, including chicken, 5kg of rice and kuih bahulu, was distributed to 100 recipients in the area.

The programme will also feature an additional initiative, 'Monjong Raya', with the distribution of 1,000 packs of briyani rice to road users and nearby residents tomorrow.
Meanwhile, recipient Mohd Amirul Izwan, 37, said the contribution helps ease his family’s burden ahead of Aidilfitri.
Wheelchair-bound since 2021 following an accident, he now assists his in-laws in running a business to support his wife and two children.
“I am grateful to Datuk Borhan for helping those in need,” he said.

Another recipient, Nurhamizah Mohd Ali, 35, said she was thankful as it was her first time receiving such assistance.
She said the contribution helps with modest preparations for Hari Raya.
“This is my first time receiving assistance, so it helps ease the burden ahead of the festive season,” Nurhamizah said.
