SHAH ALAM, March 14 — The Selangor Agricultural Development Corporation's (PKPS) Ehsan Dairy Farm project in Bukit Tagar, Hulu Selangor is expected to begin construction in the second quarter of this year.
Group chief executive officer Datuk Mohamad Khairil Mohamad Razi said the project will have a production capacity exceeding 30,000 litres of milk per day.
“Construction of the Ehsan Dairy Farm in Bukit Tagar is set to begin in the second quarter with a production capacity of 32,850 litres of milk daily,” he said during the PKPS Iftar with the media, attended by some 120 guests at Wyndham Acmar, Klang, yesterday.
On August 10 last year, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, accompanied by Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari, officiated the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the Ehsan Dairy Farm.
PKPS said the 42-acre farm will house high-quality Jersey-Holstein Friesian (F2) dairy cattle imported from Australia.
In another development, Khairil said PKPS’ Ehsan brand products have begun entering international markets, including Australia, Yemen and Oman.
“The Ehsan brand will next enter markets in Mecca, Madinah, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Manchester and Paris.
“All this is the result of support from media partners and the public who have helped introduce Ehsan products until they are recognised internationally,” he said.
He added that price intervention programmes and the Jualan Ehsan Rahmah initiative will also continue to ensure Selangor residents can purchase food items at lower prices.
