SHAH ALAM, Dec 26 — The Ehsan Dairy Farm in Hulu Selangor, which will house more than 1,200 high-quality Jersey–Holstein Friesian (F2) dairy cattle imported from Australia, is expected to commence operations in March 2026.

Selangor Agricultural Development Corporation (PKPS) group chief executive officer Datuk Mohamad Khairil Mohamad Razi said construction work is progressing smoothly, with nearly 70 per cent of the main structural works completed.

In terms of systems and equipment, he said preparations have been fully completed, with about 80 per cent of the required components already in place at the site.

“The farm was initially scheduled to begin operations in January, but delays occurred due to several factors, including unpredictable weather conditions. As such, the operational timeline was adjusted as part of risk management measures.

“This is to ensure that Ehsan Dairy Farm operates in a stable, safe and sustainable manner over the long term. Construction progress remains encouraging and is closely monitored at all times,” he told Selangor Media.

Built on a 42-acre site, the dairy centre is projected to produce up to 1.8 million litres of fresh milk annually, helping to reduce the country’s reliance on imported dairy products.

PKPS estimates that the facility will generate an annual income exceeding RM7.5 million, in addition to creating more than 100 job opportunities.

In August, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, accompanied by Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari, officiated the groundbreaking ceremony for the project.
