SHAH ALAM, March 12 — The Selangor Government Data Exchange (SelGDX) cross-agency data-sharing platform received international recognition at the recent Festival of Innovation 2026 in Singapore, winning the Digital Agency of the Year Award.
Deputy State Secretary Dato’ Mohd Yazid Sairi, meanwhile, was honoured with the Digital Leader of the Year Award under the individual category.
In a statement, the Selangor State Secretary's Office said the global recognition highlights Selangor’s role as a pioneer in smart digital infrastructure and public sector innovation.
"SelGDX’s international participation has enhanced the global profile, credibility, and positive image of the state government.
"This recognition also provides a standard and benchmark for other states to develop initiatives like SelGDX, which can serve as a catalyst for economic development and public welfare in Malaysia," it posted on Facebook.
SelGDX was launched in October 2023, making Selangor the first state in Malaysia to develop an integrated data-sharing platform operating across state agencies and the public sector.
It is managed by the Information Management Division (BPM), Selangor State Secretary’s Office.
Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Amirudin Shari had said during the launch that SelGDX's development involved over 70 government departments and agencies within Selangor, with over 30 application programming interfaces (APIs).
The portal facilitates more secure, faster, and accurate data sharing and processing, as well as fostering more efficient and transparent use of technology and good governance.
The Festival of Innovation 2026, organised by GovInsider Asia Pacific, was held on March 3 and 4 at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre.
It brought together industry leaders, government policy experts, and technology specialists from the global public sector to celebrate excellence in public sector digital transformation internationally.
