Pay with a tap: Touch ’n Go’s plushies hit the market

KUALA LUMPUR, March 10 — Touch ’n Go Sdn Bhd has introduced its first-ever Near Field Communication (NFC)-enabled plush charm inspired by two of Malaysia’s iconic morning staples — nasi lemak and air ikat tepi — allowing users to make payments with a simple tap.

In a statement today, the company said the Touch ’n Go Breakfast Plush Charm functions like a standard Touch ’n Go card and can be used at toll plazas, parking terminals and transit gates nationwide.

It said that users only need to locate the NFC symbol on the plush charm and tap it at the designated reader to complete transactions.

“Designed as both a nostalgic keepsake and a practical accessory, the plush charm can be clipped onto bags, keys or lanyards, bringing a familiar Malaysian touch into everyday commutes.

“This marks Touch ’n Go’s first-ever plush charm product, reflecting a playful extension into lifestyle expressions while maintaining seamless mobility,” the statement said.

Priced at RM55.90 each, the Touch ’n Go Breakfast Plush Charm is available exclusively on TNG Shop while stocks last.

Touch ’n Go said it will also introduce two additional plush charm designs on March 19, expanding the collection with more locally inspired creations.

For details or purchases, the public can visit the Touch ’n Go online store.
