KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 8 — Malaysians can access the BUDI Madani RON95 (BUDI95) fuel subsidy at participating petrol stations nationwide with the Touch 'N Go (TNG) eWallet app, without needing to present their MyKad.
Its managing company TNG Digital Sdn Bhd said that consumers can check their eligibility, track their subsidised balance, and pay for petrol via the app.
The initiative offers three key advantages: a single app for all fuel stations, the elimination of a physical MyKad, and an integrated Setel experience at Petronas outlets.
"As all TNG eWallet users are already verified through electronic Know-Your-Customer (eKYC), it is not necessary to show a physical identification card at the pump or counter," it said in a statement today.
TNG Digital added that each account is securely linked to the user’s verified identity and mobile device, offering a safer and more convenient way to access the subsidy.
A series of instructional videos has also been published as a guide across TNG Digital’s Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, XHS, LinkedIn, and YouTube accounts.
Previously, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced that Malaysians would enjoy RON95 petrol at RM1.99 per litre, compared to the previous RM2.05 per litre, under the BUDI95 programme starting last Tuesday (September 30), regardless of income level.
