KLANG, March 1 — Yayasan Islam Darul Ehsan (YIDE) has provided RM332,700 in Hari Raya Aidilfitri contributions to 2,218 orphans in the Klang district, in preparation for the upcoming Syawal celebrations.

Its chairman Tan Sri Mazlan Mansor said the presentation ceremony at Masjid Kampung Raja Uda today marked the fourth such programme organised throughout the Ramadan fasting month this year.

679 orphans who were present received RM150 each, amounting to a total of RM101,850.

“Meanwhile, 1,470 orphans who were unable to attend also received the same amount, which was credited directly into their respective bank accounts, involving RM220,500 to ensure that none are left out from receiving the assistance,” he said.

Mazlan was speaking to the media during the 2026 Hari Raya contribution presentation ceremony for orphans at Masjid Kampung Raja Uda, which was graced by the Raja Muda of Selangor Tengku Amir Shah.

At the ceremony, Tengku Amir also expressed the Crown's continued concern for the welfare of orphans in the state, in line with the decree and advice of the Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj that their welfare, education, and well-being should always be given due attention.

This year, YIDE has allocated RM1.87 million to assist 12,470 orphans throughout Selangor.

Meanwhile, the foundation requires approximately RM3.1 million to fully complete the Orphanage Complex in Pulau Indah, which has now reached 86 per cent construction progress.

Mazlan said the complex, built on 3.47 acres of wakaf land, will cost RM17 million and can accommodate up to 108 orphaned boys at a time.

“To date, construction has reached 86 per cent and we expect the first group of residents to move in by January 2027. However, to fully complete the infrastructure and facilities, we still require the remaining funds of about RM3 million,” he said.

The chairman added that YIDE continues to welcome public contributions to ensure the project can be completed properly for the welfare and future of the orphans.

“We are still appealing to those who wish to contribute towards the construction of this hostel complex. InsyaAllah (God willing), we hope more people will come forward to support this effort,” Mazlan said.

In a related development, YIDE is also planning to build a dedicated girls' hostel as part of an expansion of its existing facilities.

“InsyaAllah, if permitted, we also intend to build a special complex for girls,” he said.

The boys' orphanage complex is scheduled to be officiated by Sultan Sharafuddin, in conjunction with His Royal Highness’s birthday celebration in December.

Members of the public who wish to contribute towards the construction and welfare of orphans may channel their donations through YIDE’s official platforms.

YIDE is a subsidiary of the Selangor Islamic Religious Council (MAIS), which oversees the welfare of orphans and provides disaster assistance to the Muslim community in the state.
