SHAH ALAM, Feb 19 — Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj and Tengku Permaisuri of Selangor Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin have extended their Ramadan greetings to Muslims across Malaysia, especially the people of Selangor.
Their Royal Highnesses called on the public to make full use of the holy month of Ramadan to cultivate repentance, strengthen unity among Muslims, and draw closer to God.
“May this blessed month bring peace, increase our acts of worship, and nurture a spirit of compassion within society.
“Happy fasting to all Muslim men and women,” the Selangor Royal Office said in a statement posted on Facebook yesterday.
On Tuesday, the Keeper of the Rulers’ Seal, Tan Sri Syed Danial Syed Ahmad, announced that Muslims nationwide would begin fasting on February 19.
