SHAH ALAM, Feb 12 — The state government is continuing to fortify the care economy ecosystem, this time by holding the Selangor Care Network engagement session, which gathered around 100 registered stakeholders.
According to state executive councillor for women empowerment and welfare Anfaal Saari, the session, organised by Wanita Berdaya Selangor (WBS), involved taska, tadika and senior citizen care centre operators, and was a platform to obtain direct feedback on operational challenges and the industry’s current needs.
She added that the programme was an arena to table 2025’s care economy initiatives and this year’s plans under the Care Economy Permanent Committee.

“This townhall kicked off with the tabling of care economy initiatives for 2025 and planned programmes for 2026, before continuing with a bilateral dialogue session.
“It is also an important medium to understand the reality in the field, while improving existing policies,” Anfaal said after the session at IDCC here today.
She expressed hope that the initiative would strengthen the care industry network and provide space to share ideas and strategies to improve quality of service.
The session also included a public service video message on fraud prevention, thanks to cooperation with the Selangor Social Welfare Department, following cases where welfare causes were misused for scams.
Earlier, Anfaal presented care centre grants to 13 operators, involving an allocation of nearly RM100,00, to support stronger operations and services.
