PUCHONG, Jan 20 — A 13-year-old boy was rescued by firefighters after a unit on the third floor of the Sri Pulai Flats here caught fire this morning.
According to Selangor Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) assistant director of operations Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar, an emergency call was received at 6.59 am, and the fire team arrived just 10 minutes later, reported Berita Harian.
Eight firefighters from Puchong and Cyberjaya fire stations were deployed to contain the blaze.
“Upon arrival, the fire had destroyed 80 per cent of the third-floor unit,” he said.
The teenager was found in his room and rescued safely, while fire suppression operations were carried out immediately.
Ahmad Mukhlis added that the fire was fully controlled by 7.33 am, preventing it from spreading to other units.
